Best Love Family Foundation, founded and incorporated in 2018 by David and Mildrianne Best, is a nonprofit foundation that offers community support and assistance to families who are committed to helping children in licensed foster, kinship and adoptive homes. Best Love Family Foundation (BLFF) is a 501(c)(3) that opperates on charitable donations and contributions to assist with services such as diaper/pull-ups and wipe assistance, college care packages, Priscilla Robinson Best Book Scholarship and “Best” bags of love for transportin​g personal items while children are in care.


Programs & Services

DIAPER, PULL UPS, AND WIPE ASSISTANCE

Licensed foster families and families providing kinship care will receive 50 diapers/or 40 pull-ups and a bundle of wipes twice per month per eligible child in care. Adopted families will receive 50 diapers/or 40 pull-ups and a bundle of wipes once per month per eligible child.

*Eligibility is based on licensure status and verification of eligibie child in care.
**All applications are to be renewed annually on January 1st of each new year if assistance would like to be continued.

BEST BAGS OF LOVE

Best Bags of Love aims to be an on-going service, that will supply new overnight bags with a few “goodies” inside to children entering the foster care system and possibly transitioning between homes to assist with the transport of personal items.

¨Goodies¨ may include a small blanket, reading book, coloring book, crayons/coloring pencils, toothbrush, toothbrush holder and toiletry kit. BLFF will deliver bags directly to Durham, Wake and Orange counties social service agencies by the 30th of the month in January, May, and September.

COLLEGE CARE PACKAGE

Best Love Family Foundation may sponsor up to 10 eligible foster youth per year with college care packages. Eligible foster youth MUST be referred by social service staff and registered for the voluntary placement agreement and receiving extended care for ages 18-21. Referral letter for Fall semester start will be June 15th. Referral letters for Spring semester start will be November 15th.

PEER TO PEER LETTER OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Due to the uncertainties of this time, we are requesting our community members to write letters of encouragement to our youth in order to assure them that things will be “okay.” Encouraging letters and/ or cards are welcome. words and letters can be sent as a group or individually. PRISCILLA ROBINSON BEST BOOOK SCHOLARSHIP

Foster youth, may also be eligible for the Priscilla Robinson Best Book Scholarship for each subsequent semester they are actively enrolled in school. Additionally, foster youth MUST be awarded a college care package in a previous semester and continue with the social service by ensuring an extended care agreement remains on file. Scholarship may award up to $250 per eligible foster youth contingent on funding.
